I shipped my car from NY to TX. Here are why I didn't like this company.

Summary:

1. My antena head was gone. They said they are not responsible for it.

2. They were late 5 days. Couldn't contact them until I recieved my car.

3. They don't deliver themselves. Other small carrier do.

4. Car is really dirty inside and outside with oily stuff.

Detail:

1. My antena head was gone. I called customer service and they said antena is not part of their insurance and either they or carrier is not responsible for it. I had no idea that was true and they didn't even mentioned it when I shipped it. If they are not responsible for something like antena then what they are responsible for???

2. They were late 5 days. After I moved to Texas, they called me on Aug 2 saying that my car will be arrived on Aug 8. But it was not true. I called the carrier many times and they always said it will be the next day. They also said they will have the driver call me and the driver never called me until the final delivery day.

3. They don't deliver themselves. They give sub-order to a small local company that you never know how good they are (I don't know other company do the same thing). They advertize that they are family-owned company and I thought it would be better but turned out to be too small company that they had to suborder. Also, they said the rate is more expensive because they do a good job. It turned out they did a good job for only taking my money.

4. Car was very dirty in and out. Now for bugs and dust, I can understand. But there were a lot of black oily stains and they didn't come out all even after I washed my car. Inside, there was also black oily stain on my car seat. Fortunately, I had a washerble seat cover.

Overall, this is not a good carrier with a higher rate. I will never ship my car with this company again. I don't know how they get all 5 star review.

We at Specialty Mobile apologize for this customer’s experience. We received this customer’s order 7/30. Got his vehicle dispatched on 8/1 for estimated pickup on 8/2 and estimated delivery 8/8. This particular carrier was delayed due to unexpected mechanical malfunctions with his equipment, and did indeed communicate this with the customer. Specialty Mobile is a carrier as well as a broker; however, not all vehicles go on our own trucks. When a vehicle is assigned either to Specialty Mobile Carriers or another company which is affiliated with us we immediately contact the customers and give them the name and contact information for the carrier that will actually be transporting the vehicle. As stated in our terms and conditions, we are not responsible for antennas. After speaking directly to the carrier in regards to this matter, apparently the ball at the end of the antenna was gone when the vehicle arrived to the destination. Amy/Specialty Mobile
