Don't use a broker

I'm in the military, therefore move a lot, however this was only the second time I've had to ship a vehicle. The first time went off without a hitch. This time, not so much. Synergy is a broker. This means that they basically schedule your shipment and that's it. I had no issues with synergy directly. They seemed to be a very professional company. However, after they dispatch a driver, their service ends. I had left my jeep with a friend for the pick up, while my family and I were moving across country. On the day I listed as my first available pick up day, I get a call from synergy, saying there is a driver in my area that would like to take my car, but wanted more money. I told them that I was quoted a price and would not be paying more than that. A few minutes later I get called back, and after "rechecking the route", the driver decided to take it for the quoted price. I should've known better, but accepted. Next, I'm getting a call from my friend, saying the driver is there, but a hydraulic line for the trailer lift is busted and he can't load the jeep. The driver actually tried to get my friend to hand over my jeep, so he could use it to go out in town and find the parts to fix his trailer. Being a good friend, he refused and told the driver to return once it was fixed. More drama and arguing ensued, but eventually the jeep was loaded and enroute. Similarly, when he arrived in Florida, we had issues. The driver refused to follow my directions. When he called an hour out, I told him I would meet him at the grocery store parking lot a mile down the road, since a truck would have a hard time getting into my neighborhood. Ten minutes prior to arrival, I repeated, where we should meet. Then, I get a call that he is at my neighborhood. Thinking okay, maybe he just pulled into the front of the neighborhood. Nope. He just decided to stop in the middle of a two lane highway, with traffic passing by at 55mph+. I asked why he didn't just go to the grocery store like I told him and he replied, "I do this all the time. Do you want your car or not?" I quickly began to understand the frustration that my friend had relayed a few days earlier. The driver was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would never recommend such a person. Therefore, I can not recommend synergy. When you deal with a broker, there is no accountability for the driver. Once your car is dispatched, they are done with you. I will never use a broker again.
