As a journalist who's uncovered consumer scams, I carefully researched every aspect of my first foray into the vehicle transport business. And I quickly learned that Transport Reviews is the go-to site for reliable evaluations. After reading reviews of well-known carriers, I placed several calls and spoke to a series of salesmen and women, but I immediately sensed I'd found the right person when I spoke to the president of Transport Connection, Billl Averich. He's a no-nonsense guy, even gruff - but starts right out telling you all the ways you can get screwed when trying to transport your vehicle; ALL accurate, according to my prior research. What impressed me most was when he let me listen to his negotiation with a driver he thought was very reliable - and the driver volunteered a price that was even lower than what Bill had quoted me. We made the deal, and the driver actually showed up in Los Angeles earlier than scheduled, after first phoning me for an okay. Vehicle was loaded, no muss or fuss, and five days later my Ford Lightning was delivered safe and sound. Bill's best advice: NEVER send an advance payment to any shipper until you have an e-mailed time-and-date vehicle pick-up agreement. Good Luck!
