I booked a job through a broker to transport my vehicle from NY to CA. Vladimir called and told my Father he would pick up the car at 2AM without ever asking if that was ok. My Father reluctantly agreed and then Vladimir called back claiming he got a flat tire and it would be later, to which my Father rightfully replied "no come during normal hours."
Upon pick up Vladimir noticed there were some articles left in the car and proceeded to demand an additional $100. I spoke with him and told him we would find another carrier since I fully informed the broker there would be toys for my kids in the car and the broker said it would not be a problem. Vladimir threatened my elderly parents that if he did not take the car then he would have the broker charge my credit card $175; my parents unfortunately believed him and gave this crook $50 extra.
Also, he brought his own extremely one sided contract and demanded it be signed and states things such as he can deliver the car at any time 24/7 meaning if its 4AM you need to hop out of bed and meet him or he will place your car in a storage facility that charges $175 for the first day and $75 every day after. I have checked around with several brokers and they all told me that is unheard of since you already have a contract with the broker and carriers should not bring additional contracts to be signed by customers.
Then Vladimir calls me on Sunday stating the car will be delivered on Monday. Monday comes around and I did not hear from him so I had to call him at which point he claims the truck has a problem and he is in Reno getting it fixed and the new delivery date will be Wednesday or Thursday. When I asked that he deliver during normal business hours he stated "read the contract, I can deliver any time I want". At this point I got the broker involved who spent two hours convincing Vladimir to deliver during daylight hours so that I could perform a proper inspection of the vehicle.
Vladimir also refused to deliver to my house despite that being the drop off location on both his contract and the broker’s contract and forced me to meet him in a parking lot a few miles away.
Upon delivery, Vladimir would not take my car off the carrier until he had his money first. He was rude and hostile during my inspection of the car and when I noted damage he simply argued with me and even tried to refuse letting me put any damage on the BOL. I again had to call the broker who told him he had no right to prevent me from noting the damage that I saw which was not on the original pick up BOL.
As I drove off he cursed at me and gave me an obscene finger gesture. Obviously I will never use his services again and will be contacting his insurance company regarding the damage to my vehicle.
I have had 3 others cars shipped in the past 5 years and I have never experienced any of the issues that I had with this carrier. I am amazed that he is still in business due to the way he treats customers.
