I received a quote for $615.00 to move a compact car from Hollywood California to San Antonio Texas from Crossover Auto Transport, Cristina Cox. I called and spoke with Ken Dalton, he ask for a $195.00 down payment which left a $420.00 balance upon receipt of the vehicle. I was sent a receipt from US Auto Transport. Several days passed and getting close to pick up, the dealer (where I purchased the car) called the transport company to check on everything. They said the price went up, I then called to see why the change. Not sure who I spoke with from US Auto Transport, he just told me the price went up for no reason and the initial $195.00 was not part of the quote for $615.00. He went on to call me and my mother everything in the book and said there was nothing I could do about it! I told him I wanted a refund, he told me to go F- - myself. The shipping total went from $615.00 to $895.00. This broker is out of New York, this is a total scam. Stay Clear!!
This company (US Auto Transport) is using legit company names with good reviews to get you money.
Bottom Line - - Stay away from anyone that only takes echecks or wires for payment. Always get the down payment and balance in writing before you pay a dime, stay away from brokers in New York especially this one, and read reviews!!!
