Summary: Driver was late, difficult, and changed the agreement on his own.

We found Exclusive Auto Transport through Magic Carpet. The driver, Phil, was scheduled to arrive on a Monday and called the day before to say he'd be there in the morning. He never called Monday morning, but when we tracked him down he said he'd be there in the afternoon, then later called to say he'd be there that night, then said he'd be there the next morning, and finally arrived after the promised time on Tuesday morning. He then told us that the cars would arrive in Arizona on Monday, something he later denied saying.

The dispatcher told Magic Carpet the following Wednesday that the driver would be in Arizona to drop the cars off on Thursday morning, but when we called Thursday morning to find out when he'd be here, we were told his truck had broken down the night before in Texas - meaning even if he hadn't broken down he wouldn't have reached Arizona by Thursday morning - and they never called to notify us they'd be late. We had to leave town that Friday, so we didn't get our cars till Monday morning.

The agreement with Magic Carpet was that we would pay via cashier's check, but when the driver arrived, he insisted on cash, something he had not previously told me. He claimed that I could simply stop payment on the cashier's check after I gave it to him, which is false. He refused to give me the keys and tried to physically intimidate me into getting out of his way so he could get into the car to put it back on the truck. We finally had no choice but to go to the bank and cash the cashier's check; even when the teller told him he was wrong, he refused to admit it and insisted on getting cash - and still continued to argue with me even after I gave him his money.

There is no way on earth anyone should use this company to ship anything.

This truck on this load did have mechanical difficulties that was out of our control. Will be sure to avoid in the future. Dispatcher drop the ball in this case and is not how we like to do business. Once driver realize he would not make it til late thursday we had driver wait over until cutomers made it back home from their trip. Customer contrcat with Magic Carpet has nothing to do with our contract with broker. Unfortunately customer was advised to have a cashier check but cash on delivery was on ours. Easy mis-communication between the two companies. Situation between cutomer & driver is sumed up to a he say she say issue and had no facts to prove either complaint.
