Experience with this company was a total disaster! We were still in the state where the car was picked-up from when JR Transport was supposed to deliver the car in another state – in the driveway with the key secured. I spoke with the driver (from 1,300 miles away) after the delivery of the car. Twice he told me that the car was in the driveway. When we returned from vacation the car was not in the driveway as the driver stated to me. I immediately called JR Transport. Again, I was told by the 2nd driver of the transport truck that the car was left in the driveway. I called the local police. I reported the car was not in the driveway upon returning home from vacation. I thought the car was stolen. To my surprise, I was informed by the police that the car was parked in street blocking a neighbor’s driveway (not even the address where the car was supposed to be delivered to). As a result, there was a $334.35 police towing and storage fee bill, two $54 summonses issued for “Blocking Driveway” and a mandatory court appearance and possible loss of driver’s license for 6 months for a summons issued for “Abandonment of Vehicle.” The court date is set for the end of this month. The fine for that summons will be set by the judge during the court date. Also, there is $110 in loss of wages for the day to recover the car from the police impound. Ontop of it, the car could not be recovered until the next day due to late hour. More stress and aggravation! The owner of JR Transport was informed of all of this by the transport company that booked them. There is no attempt on the part of JR to make restitution There is no apology. There is payment to the company for the transport, though. Credit Card information was taken before the transport. Fair? I don’t think so! All the driver had to do was call me. I would have had a friend or family member pick-up the car from him if there was a problem with the delivery site. Also, JR did not contact the company that booked the transport, either; to report a delivery problem. That company had several phone numbers and e-mail addresses to contact me with. JR Transport chose to mislead me as to where the car was dropped-off during a declared “State of Emergency” snowstorm. They showed no care or concern for what happened to the vehicle they left in the road at the wrong address.
