First, the movers showed up still drunk from their partying the night before and were bragging about how much they drank and how many girls they picked up that night. So they were slow, kept having to stop and rest and took them over 6 hours to move our stuff out even though we had already packed up all boxes, etc. Delivery was a nightmare. Kept saying that they were on I-95 stuck in traffic. Then 10 minutes later, another agent would tell me the truck was in Alabama. 10 minutes later, a different agent told me our stuff was still in their warehouse. Every day my roommate and I had to take off work because they kept telling us that they were coming that day and then would never show. One day, the driver got arrested for not paying his child support payments so they had to find another driver. Finally they show up and the driver decides he doesn't want to move our stuff up two flights of stairs so asks a really SHADY guy walking by our street to help. We tell them that we want him to leave and that he should not be walking around our apartment (he was casing our apartment and our stuff!) but the driver refused. Called Nationwide and they told us they couldn't do anything about it. We ended up calling the police. They asked the guy off the street for identification which he conveniently didn't have (incidentally, our apartment building and the first floor apartment got broken into a week later.. one guess as to how that happened) and made him leave. Movers had lost some items. Kept calling claims and insurance from Nationwide and the actual moving company. Nationwide sent a check for $9 which was completely insulting. This happened February 2007. I just received a call (May 2008) from their claims department asking what my claim was for and why they paid me $9. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. One customer service rep during my move called me a b**ch because I wanted to know exactly where the truck was (after waiting 3 days).
